We offer lunch and hot meals every day. Our lunch buffet includes a hot meal, salad, beverages, and coffee / ice cream for children.

On weekdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Lunch price: €12.90 / child €7.50

On weekends and holidays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Lunch price: €16.90 / child €9.90

Our menu dishes are available from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A comprehensive selection of hot meals, fast food and children’s meals. All meals include a salad, bread, and beverages like milk or homemade non-alcoholic beer, and a coffee / ice cream for children.

Our café offers a selection of refreshing drinks, coffee and tea, our freshly baked Finnish buns “pulla” and doughnuts every day, along with savory and sweet products from the local Pyymäen Leipomo bakery. Our café is open every day from morning till evening!

This dish has been on our menu since the beginning. Be sure to taste the frankfurters with our own mustard which you can find at the tables.

Five home-made meatballs in brown sauce, the potatoes of your choosing (Potato mash is recommended.)
Really typical Nordic dish. Home-made is not just the name of the dish, our meatballs are actually-home- made from scratch. Well ok, we don’t have cows and pigs at the back yard, but you get the gist.
Wiener Schnitzel (L)	16,50
Battered pork sirloin with a lemon slice “hat” topped with caper and a slice of anchovy, the potatoes of your choosing.
Wiener Schnitzel is a common dish is Finnish restaurants but unlike in the country-of-origin Austria, in Finland it is often made of pork instead of veal. The combination of caper and anchovy is also not part of the original Austrian recipe but has become a standard at least in the Nordic way of serving this classic schnitzel.

Battered pork sirloin stuffed with cheese and ham topped with a slice of lemon, the potatoes of your choosing.
A fun fact about this schnitzel is that it is called “Sveitsinleike” in Finnish which translates to the Switzerland’s Schnitzel which makes sense since the dish is originally from Switzerland. Maybe the original French name was considered to be too foreign and fancy for the Finnish audience. The original name by the way translates in to “Blue Ribbon” and has nothing to do with blue cheese, as is the popular misconception.

Grilled chicken breast with curry mayonnaise, the potatoes of your choosing.
Sadly, we don’t have any specific or fun facts about this dish. It’s the classic healthier but tasty option. The stable of almost all restaurant menus in Finland with slight variations. We have gone with the always good combination of chicken and curry. If the curry mayonnaise is not your thing, we have garlic dip as an alternative.
Grilled pork sirloin (L, G)	16,90
Pork sirloin with our kitchen’s own hollandaise sauce based “Kabinetinkastike,” the potatoes of your choosing.
The name “Kabinetinkastike” means the Cabinet’s Sauce (Kabinetti = Cabinet, Kastike = Sauce) in Finnish. The name comes from this restaurant’s name Kiskokabinetti which translates into Railway Cabinet or Rail Cabinet.

Beaf sirloin tenderized flat and served with seasoned butter and the potatoes of your choosing.
This is a true incident which happened here some time ago: The dish is called Lehtipihvi in Finnish. If you are learning Finnish and recognize the words Lehti (Leaf) and Pihvi (Steak) don’t make the assumption that this is a vegetarian dish. One can assume it’s called Leaf Steak because it’s tenderized flat as a leaf.

Grilled beef sirloin served in creamy pepper sauce and the potatoes of your choosing.
Pippuripihvi meaning Pepper (Pippuri) Steak (Pihvi) is noe of the all-time favourite dishes for many Finnish restaurant-goers. This is not a surprise since the combination of beef with pepper in a creamy sauce is simply delicious. You’ll probably see some variation of this dish in many restaurants you visit.
Salmon Fillet (L, G)	18,50
Pan Fried Rainbow Trout in creamy sauce Hollandaise served with lemon and dill and the potatoes of your choosing.
No, there isn’t a mistake in the menu. Salmon is often used as a synonym to Rainbow Trout. It’s actually a different fish but with very similar taste. In Finnish language the distinction is even harder because Salmon is Lohi in Finnish and Rainbow Trout is Kirjolohi. Often when you order Lohi/Salmon in Finnish restaurants you will actually get Kirjolohi/Rainbow Trout.
Vegetable patties (L, G, Vegan)	13,50
Carrot, lentil and kidney bean patties with curry mayonnaise and fried vegetables and the potatoes of your choosing. The dish is fully vegan if ordered without the mayonnaise.
If you read the Minute Steak, or the “Leaf Steak” section, this is the actual vegan or vegetarian option. The dish is called Kasvispihvit in Finnish which meaning Vegetable (Kasvis) Steaks (Pihvit). We chose our patties to be vegan so the customer can order the portion fully vegan if the mayonnaise is left out.

French Fries with Deep-Fried Sausages (L, G)	9,90
Served with onion, mayonnaise, cucumber relish and topped with ketchup and mustard.
Makkaraperunat (Sausage Potatoes) is the old school Finnish fast-food. A classic served at every midnight snack bar and a true favourite of the Finnish people. This is something you order when you want to have something tasty, salty and greasy. It tastes really good, just maybe don’t eat it every day.

French fries served with deep fried sausage pieces, meat balls and chicken nuggets. Served with onion, mayonnaise, cucumber relish and topped with ketchup and mustard.
A newer style version of the classic Makkaraperunat (above) with some extra stuff added. The classic name of this portion is Grillikori (Grill Basket) meaning there is often a bit of everything that grill you are visiting has to offer.

We wanted to offer something different, so our burger comes with pork sirloin instead of the typical minced meat patty. It’s different, but good.

You might have heard that the traditional food of Tampere (and the Pirkanmaa region in general) is Mustamakkara – Black Sausage. That is true, but nowadays chicken wings are the thing in Pirkanmaa. Siipiweikot is the oldest chicken wings restaurant and hot sauce manufacturer in Finland. They brought the chicken wings culture to Tampere over 30 years ago from USA. A few years ago the citizens of Pirkanmaa ate over half of all the wings eaten in Finland. Because of this Pirkanmaa Wings culture, we also want to serve the oldest (and in my opinion best) wings sauce available in Finland, Siipiweikot.

Fueling for gasoline and diesel is available 24/7 with card payment, and we accept cash payments during the station’s opening hours. You can also charge your electric car with our (2) 75 kW fast charger. The charger operates on the Virta network and works with its app and tag. We offer a service station for tire pressure checks and air filling, windshield washing, and a water station.

Our grocery store stocks essential car supplies, including vehicle equipment, motor oils, coolants, and windshield washer fluids during the opening hours. The grocery store is open every day with a comprehensive selection of groceries, car supplies, a gift shop and lottery services.

Getting to Kiskokabinetti service station

Our service station is located along the Finnish national road 12, close to Sastamala, when driving towards Tampere. We are a convenient stop for travelers, especially those coming from Turku and Rauma and travelling to Tampere and Jyväskylä, and vice versa.

Activities at Kiskokabinetti, Sastamala

In addition to dining and services, we offer many recreational opportunities and places to stretch your legs. On our yard there is an outdoor playground for the little ones. Locomotive enthusiasts can also explore the cab of an old locomotive and a pump trolley in our yard.

If you are travelling int the summer, you can also visit the historical railroad dining car of the Marshal Mannerheim from the Continuation War of 1941-1944. The exhibited salon car served as the restaurant car. A pleasant historical addition to your trip – the visit to the car is free!
